I return to post after a (long) pause to comment on a news went almost unnoticed.
According to ' art. 68, paragraph 6 of the Decree Law no. 112/2008 (converted into Law no. 133/2008) 's High Commmissario to combat counterfeiting has been deleted and has ceased operations since August 23, 2008. The Authority, established only in 2005, had important tasks in the field of computer science and new technologies: monitoring and data collection of counterfeiting; surveillance on the prevention and repression of the same, and address coordination of policies and strategies for the protection of industrial and intellectual property; study and development of regulatory and administrative measures for the protection of intellectual and industrial assistance to companies affected by counterfeiting.

In light of the withdrawal, the Ministry of Economic Development has, however, hastened to communicate that you have activated a call center and a mail service to consumers and businesses can contact for clarification, assistance and recommendations.

This news is so clear that the legislative work in the field of copyright does not follow a specific plan but is geared to a dangerous and worrying improvisation.
I limit myself to a few brief remarks. Certainly the themes of the delicate relationship between copyright, intellectual property and new technologies are strettisima topical and deserve appropriate institutional responses. It seems however that the Government has neither a plan nor a proposal on this subject. No policy on copyright: in our country deal with it associations (record companies, the software houses) but not the State.

Mine is not a defense of the Commissioner to combat counterfeiting, but the finding that suppression of the (generally motivated by the need to reduce spending) occurred without any assessment of functionality and activity of the Authority. This decision raises doubts even greater if only we can read the press release of Ministry of Economic Development: if anyone has any illusions (or wants us to delude ourselves) that the problems of piracy and counterfeiting can be solved with a call center obviously did not understand the ' importance of an institutional point of reference and competent specialist who can deal with copyright and industrial property in full and away from special interests.

We also want to add that it seems to be rumors that the Guardia di Finanza was messsa the door in collaboration with the Directorate General for Combating contraffazione.Insomma were literally driven out ... Maybe because there are too delicate interests that would be difficult to manage in the presence of financiers? But really who cares about the fight against counterfeiting? A few lobby??
    that sucks!
