Internet for Parliamentarians

In recent weeks there has been much discussed of our Parliament's attempts to write new rules for new technologies.

In many cases, these regulatory interventions have highlighted a lack of awareness on the part of our legislature of the Internet phenomenon, the dynamics of the movement of digital content in cyberspace and the extraordinary potential that the Internet offers citizens, businesses and politics.

For this reason, friends of the ' Institute for Policy Innovation we decided to do something concrete, bringing together the legislature with some of the greatest Italian experts in Internet and information society. And 'born that way " Conversations on the Internet, law and innovation policy ", a series of meetings, whose participation is restricted to Members, which will take place between March 18 and April 21, 2009.

The goal of our initiative is to enable MPs to understand the hands of important and influential speakers - who have declared their willingness to take part in the initiative at no charge - what are the dynamics of the movement of digital content in cyberspace and, more generally, what are the potential of the web for the country from a socially, economically and politically.

Thank you from now all those who agreed to participate in this initiative and I hope that our representatives show interest in the network and its problems, so that a serious and constructive debate can finally begin.
